🍳 Homemade Breakfast Sausage

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground pork (or mix pork + turkey)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional, for color & flavor)
  • ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)

Instructions

1️⃣ Mix the meat

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
  • Mix thoroughly but gently — overmixing can make sausage tough.

2️⃣ Form patties or links

  • For patties: shape into 2–3 inch rounds.
  • For links: roll into small logs.

3️⃣ Cook

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook patties 3–4 minutes per side until browned and internal temp reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • For links, cook 10–12 minutes, turning often.

4️⃣ Serve
