🛒 Ingredients (Makes 12–16 breadsticks)
- 2¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 cup warm water (110°F / 43°C)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp olive oil (plus more for brushing)
- 1 tsp salt
- Optional: 2 tbsp melted butter, garlic powder, or herbs for topping

1️⃣ Activate yeast
- In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast.
- Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
2️⃣ Make dough
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Knead 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
3️⃣ First rise
- Place dough in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise 1 hour, until doubled.
4️⃣ Shape breadsticks
- Punch down dough.
- Divide into 12–16 pieces. Roll each into a stick (~6 inches long).
- Place on greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.
5️⃣ Second rise
- Cover and let rise 20–30 minutes.
6️⃣ Bake
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Bake 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
7️⃣ Optional finishing touch
- Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with garlic powder, Parmesan, or herbs.
