🥖 Classic Soft Bread Roll

A simple, fluffy bread roll that’s perfect for dinner, sandwiches, or just warm with butter.

🧾 Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg

Optional: egg wash (1 egg + 1 tbsp water) or sesame seeds for topping

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Activate Yeast

  • Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast.
  • Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.

2. Make Dough

  • Mix flour and salt in a large bowl.
  • Add yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg.
  • Stir until dough forms.

3. Knead

  • Knead on floured surface 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Or use a stand mixer with dough hook 5–6 minutes.

4. First Rise

  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–2 hours until doubled.

5. Shape Rolls

  • Punch down dough. Divide into 10–12 balls.
  • Place on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Cover and let rise 30–45 minutes.

6. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Optional: brush rolls with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds.
  • Bake 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool slightly before serving.

⭐ Tips:

  • Use warm milk to activate yeast properly.
  • Don’t over-flour; dough should be soft.
  • Brush with butter after baking for extra softness and shine.

I can also give you a restaurant-style fluffy bread roll recipe like Panera Bread, light, airy, and perfect for sandwiches or dinner.

Do you want me to make that version?
