Here’s a simple and delicious Bowtie Chicken (Farfalle Chicken) recipe — creamy, flavorful, and perfect for an easy weeknight dinner.
Creamy Bowtie Chicken
Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
- 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 medium chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 2 cups fresh spinach (optional)
Instructions
1. Cook the pasta
Cook bowtie pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Cook the chicken
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Cook 5–7 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
3. Make the sauce
In the same pan, sauté garlic for 30 seconds.
Add chicken broth and simmer 2–3 minutes.
Stir in heavy cream and simmer until slightly thickened (about 4–5 minutes).
Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
4. Combine
Return chicken to the pan.
Add tomatoes and spinach (if using). Cook until spinach wilts.
Stir in cooked pasta and toss until coated.
5. Serve
Top with extra Parmesan and fresh parsley if desired.
Optional Add-Ins
- Mushrooms
- Sun-dried tomatoes
- Red pepper flakes for heat
- A squeeze of lemon juice for brightness
Lighter Option
Use milk instead of heavy cream and reduce Parmesan slightly. Add a teaspoon of cornstarch mixed with water if you need extra thickness.
If you’d like, I can also give a garlic butter version (no cream) or a baked cheesy bowtie chicken casserole version.
