Here’s a creamy slow cooker beef steak recipe that turns tougher cuts into melt-in-your-mouth comfort food.

Creamy Slow Cooker Beef Steak

Best cuts

  • Round steak
  • Chuck steak
  • Blade steak
    (These love low & slow)

Ingredients

  • 1½–2 lbs beef steak, sliced or left whole
  • 1 packet onion soup mix (or 1 tsp onion powder + 1 tsp garlic powder + salt & pepper)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 4 oz cream cheese, cubed
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Optional: mushrooms, onions

Instructions

  1. (Optional but recommended) Quickly sear steak in a hot pan for color.
  2. Add steak to slow cooker.
  3. Whisk soup, broth, onion soup mix, and Worcestershire. Pour over steak.
  4. Scatter cream cheese on top.
  5. Cook:
    • Low: 6–8 hours
    • High: 4–5 hours
  6. Stir until creamy and tender.

Serve it with

  • Mashed potatoes (elite combo)
  • Egg noodles
  • Rice
  • With carrots or green beans

Make it even better

  • Stir in sour cream instead of cream cheese for stroganoff vibes
  • Add Dijon mustard (1 tsp) for depth
  • Finish with parsley or cracked black pepper
