🍌 Classic Banana Bread

A moist, flavorful loaf that’s perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert — a great way to use overripe bananas.

📝 Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup sugar (can use brown sugar for deeper flavor)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 very ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 ½ cups)
  • ½ cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Mix wet ingredients: In another bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in mashed bananas.
  4. Combine: Gently fold dry ingredients into wet until just combined. Stir in nuts or chocolate chips if using.
  5. Bake: Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool: Let bread cool in the pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

✨ Tips

  • Overripe bananas with lots of brown spots give the best sweetness and flavor.
  • Do not overmix the batter — it keeps the bread tender.
  • For extra richness, substitute ¼ cup of butter with ¼ cup sour cream or yogurt.

You can also make a banana bread muffin version for quick, single-serving treats.

Do you want me to give that muffin variation too?
