Baked potato with sausage and onions

Posted on March 19, 2026 by Admin

A baked potato with sausage and onions is hearty, comforting, and super satisfying—crispy potato skin, fluffy inside, topped with savory sausage and sweet caramelized onions.

🥔 Baked Potato with Sausage & Onions

🛒 Ingredients:

  • 2–4 large potatoes (russet works best)
  • 2–3 sausages (chicken or beef, halal if needed)
  • 1 large onion (sliced)
  • 2 tbsp oil or butter
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika or chili flakes
  • Optional: shredded cheese, sour cream/yogurt, fresh herbs

🔪 Method:

1. Bake the potatoes

  • Preheat oven to 200°C
  • Wash and dry potatoes
  • Rub with oil and sprinkle salt
  • Pierce with a fork
  • Bake for 45–60 minutes until soft inside and crispy outside

👉 Tip: For extra crispy skin, bake directly on the rack.

2. Cook sausage & onions

  • Slice sausages into rounds
  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Cook sausage until browned
  • Add sliced onions
  • Cook until soft and slightly caramelized
  • Season with salt, pepper, paprika

3. Assemble

  • Cut open the baked potatoes
  • Fluff the inside with a fork
  • Add a little butter (optional)
  • Top generously with sausage and onions

🧀 Optional Toppings:

  • Melted cheese
  • Yogurt or sour cream
  • Chili sauce or mustard
  • Fresh coriander or parsley

🌶️ Desi Twist:

  • Add green chilies while cooking onions
  • Sprinkle chaat masala on the potato
  • Add a drizzle of spicy mayo or garlic sauce

😋 Why it works:

  • Crispy potato skin + soft inside
  • Savory, juicy sausage
  • Sweet, caramelized onions

If you want, I can show you a foil-wrapped street-style version, an air fryer method, or a loaded version with creamy sauce and extra toppings.
