Air Fryer Grilled Ham and Cheese

Posted on March 18, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a quick and delicious way to make Air Fryer Grilled Ham and Cheese with perfectly crispy bread and melty cheese:

Ingredients (makes 2 sandwiches)

  • 4 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or your choice)
  • 2–3 slices of cooked ham
  • 2–3 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or American)
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Assemble the sandwiches:
    • Butter one side of each slice of bread.
    • On the unbuttered side, layer ham and cheese, then top with the second slice of bread (buttered side out).
  2. Preheat the air fryer:
    • Set to 370°F (188°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  3. Cook the sandwiches:
    • Place sandwiches in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
    • Cook for 5–7 minutes, flipping halfway, until bread is golden and crispy and the cheese is melted.
  4. Serve immediately:
    • Let sandwiches cool for 1–2 minutes, then slice and serve.

Tips

  • Don’t overload with ham and cheese to ensure even melting.
  • For extra crispiness, brush a thin layer of mayonnaise on the outside instead of butter.
  • Add a slice of tomato or a pinch of mustard for extra flavor.

If you want, I can also give a “family-sized batch” method to make 4–6 sandwiches at once in the air fryer without crowding the basket. It’s perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. Do you want that version?
