Slow cooker ribs

Posted on February 28, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a tender and flavorful Slow Cooker Ribs recipe — fall-off-the-bone ribs with a rich, sticky sauce.

🥩 Slow Cooker Ribs

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 2–3 lbs (900 g–1.4 kg) pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar or water (optional, for extra moisture)

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the ribs

  1. Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs (if present).
  2. Season ribs generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Cut ribs into sections that fit your slow cooker if needed.

2️⃣ Place in slow cooker

  • Place ribs in the slow cooker in a single layer or stacked slightly.
  • Pour barbecue sauce over the ribs, coating evenly.
  • Add apple cider vinegar or water to the bottom for moisture (optional).

3️⃣ Cook

  • Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours until ribs are tender and easily pull apart with a fork.

4️⃣ Optional: Broil for a glaze

  • Preheat oven broiler.
  • Transfer ribs to a baking sheet, brush with extra barbecue sauce, and broil 3–5 minutes until the edges are caramelized.

5️⃣ Serve

  • Serve ribs with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
  • Pair with coleslaw, cornbread, or roasted vegetables.

Tips

  • Tender ribs: Low and slow cooking ensures ribs stay juicy and tender.
  • Flavor boost: Add a splash of soy sauce or honey to the barbecue sauce.
  • Spicy variation: Mix chili powder or hot sauce into the sauce for heat.
  • Make ahead: Ribs can be cooked in the slow cooker, cooled, and refrigerated. Reheat and broil to refresh the glaze.

If you want, I can also give you a slow cooker ribs with a honey-garlic glaze version that’s sticky and slightly sweet — perfect for a finger-licking meal.

Do you want that version?
