Cheesesteak Fries

Posted on February 28, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a quick and indulgent Cheesesteak Fries recipe — crispy fries loaded with tender beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and melted cheese.

🍟 Cheesesteak Fries

Ingredients (Serves 2–4)

  • 1 lb (450 g) frozen or fresh French fries
  • 1/2 lb (225 g) thinly sliced beef (ribeye, sirloin, or deli-style steak)
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 1–2 cups shredded cheese (provolone, cheddar, or American)
  • Optional toppings: pickled jalapeños, ketchup, mayo, or hot sauce

Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the fries

  • Bake or fry fries according to package instructions or your preference.
  • Keep warm while preparing toppings.

2️⃣ Sauté the veggies

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add onions, peppers, and mushrooms (if using). Sauté 4–5 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized.
  3. Remove from skillet and set aside.

3️⃣ Cook the beef

  1. In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed.
  2. Sear the thinly sliced beef for 2–3 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  3. Return vegetables to the skillet and stir to combine.

4️⃣ Assemble the fries

  1. Spread cooked fries on a serving platter or oven-safe dish.
  2. Top with the beef and vegetable mixture.
  3. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top.
  4. Optional: Place under a broiler or in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 3–5 minutes until cheese is melted.

5️⃣ Serve

  • Garnish with optional toppings like pickled jalapeños or fresh herbs.
  • Serve hot with dipping sauces like ketchup, mayo, or ranch.

Tips

  • Cheese melt: Use provolone for a classic cheesesteak flavor or a blend of cheddar and mozzarella for extra gooeyness.
  • Crispier fries: Bake or double-fry fries before topping to prevent sogginess.
  • Make it hearty: Add sautéed mushrooms or banana peppers for extra flavor.

If you want, I can also give you a slow-cooker or one-pan skillet version where the fries, beef, and veggies all cook together for an easy cleanup meal.

Do you want that version?
