Posted on February 27, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a sweet, crunchy, totally addictive Butter Toffee Pretzels recipe — perfect for holidays, parties, or gifting.

🥨 Butter Toffee Pretzels

Ingredients (Makes about 8 cups)

  • 8 cups mini pretzels or pretzel twists
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt (omit if using salted butter)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Optional Add-ins:

  • 1 cup chopped pecans or almonds
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (for drizzling after baking)
  • Sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C).
  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Prepare Pretzels

  • Spread pretzels evenly in a large roasting pan or on a rimmed baking sheet.

3️⃣ Make Toffee Sauce

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
  • Stir in brown sugar and salt.
  • Bring to a gentle boil and cook 3–4 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and baking soda (mixture will foam).

4️⃣ Coat Pretzels

  • Immediately pour hot toffee over pretzels.
  • Stir gently until evenly coated.

5️⃣ Bake

  • Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to prevent sticking.

6️⃣ Cool

  • Spread onto parchment to cool completely.
  • Break apart once hardened.

Optional Finishing Touches

  • Chocolate drizzle: Melt chocolate and drizzle over cooled pretzels.
  • Salted caramel vibe: Sprinkle lightly with flaky sea salt before cooling.
  • Nutty version: Toss nuts in with pretzels before adding toffee.

Storage

  • Store in an airtight container up to 1 week (if they last that long!).

If you’d like, I can also give you a no-bake microwave version that’s faster but just as delicious.
