Bacon in the oven

Posted on February 24, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, foolproof way to cook Bacon in the Oven — crispy, evenly cooked, and easy cleanup 🥓✨

Oven-Baked Bacon

Serves: 2–4 (depending on slices)
Time: ~20–25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 8–12 slices of bacon
  • Optional: black pepper, brown sugar, or maple syrup for flavor

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  • Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Place a wire rack on top if you want the bacon extra crispy and fat to drain.

2️⃣ Arrange Bacon

  • Lay bacon slices in a single layer on the baking sheet or wire rack.
  • Make sure slices do not overlap.

3️⃣ Add Optional Flavor

  • Sprinkle with black pepper, or brush lightly with maple syrup or sprinkle brown sugar if desired.

4️⃣ Bake

  • Bake 15–20 minutes, checking at 12–15 minutes for thinner slices.
  • Bake longer for extra crispiness.

5️⃣ Drain & Serve

  • Remove bacon and place on paper towels to drain excess fat.
  • Serve hot.

Tips & Variations

  • Chewy bacon: bake closer to 15 minutes.
  • Crispy bacon: bake 20–25 minutes.
  • For flavored bacon, try brushing with honey, maple syrup, or sprinkle smoked paprika before baking.
  • Save bacon grease for cooking eggs, vegetables, or adding flavor to recipes.

If you want, I can also give a sheet-pan method for bacon and eggs together for a complete breakfast with minimal cleanup.
