Posted on February 23, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and crowd-pleasing Slow Cooker Sausage Dip — perfect for parties, game days, or easy snacking. 🌭🧀

Slow Cooker Sausage Dip Recipe

Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

  • 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, depending on preference)
  • 1 (8 oz / 225 g) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup salsa (mild, medium, or hot)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Optional: ¼ tsp cayenne pepper or hot sauce for extra heat
  • Optional garnish: chopped green onions or fresh cilantro

Instructions

1. Cook the Sausage

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned, breaking it into crumbles.
  2. Drain excess grease.

2. Combine Ingredients in Slow Cooker

  1. Place cooked sausage in the slow cooker.
  2. Add softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, salsa, garlic powder, and optional cayenne or hot sauce.
  3. Stir to combine.

3. Cook

  • Cover and cook on low for 1–2 hours, stirring occasionally, until cheese is fully melted and mixture is creamy.
  • Alternatively, cook on high for 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4. Serve

  • Serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced veggies.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions or cilantro for extra color.

Tips

  • For extra creaminess, add ¼ cup sour cream or a splash of milk when combining ingredients.
  • For more flavor, use smoked sausage or add diced green chiles.
  • This dip can be kept warm on the slow cooker’s “keep warm” setting during parties.

I can also give a quick stovetop version that’s ready in 15 minutes if you don’t want to use a slow cooker.

Do you want me to provide that quick stovetop version?
