Here’s a California Avocado Burger—fresh, juicy, and classic West Coast style 🥑🍔


California Avocado Burger

Ingredients (makes 2 burgers)

Burger Patties

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • Optional: garlic powder or onion powder

Toppings

  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced or mashed
  • 2 slices pepper jack, Swiss, or cheddar cheese
  • 2 brioche or sesame buns, toasted
  • Lettuce (butter lettuce or romaine)
  • Tomato slices
  • Red onion slices

Optional Add-Ons

  • Crispy bacon
  • Fried egg
  • Grilled onions
  • Jalapeños

Sauce (pick one or mix)

  • Mayonnaise
  • Chipotle mayo
  • Garlic aioli
  • Burger sauce

Instructions

  1. Make the patties
    • Divide beef into 2 equal portions.
    • Gently form patties, slightly wider than buns.
    • Season generously with salt & pepper (and optional spices).
  2. Cook the burgers
    • Grill or cook in a skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Cook 3–4 minutes per side for medium.
    • Add cheese during last minute; cover to melt.
  3. Prep avocado
    • Slice or mash avocado with a pinch of salt and lemon juice.
  4. Assemble
    • Bottom bun
    • Sauce
    • Lettuce
    • Burger patty with melted cheese
    • Avocado
    • Tomato, onion, and optional add-ons
    • Top bun

  • Healthier: Turkey burger + whole wheat bun
