🥩 Beef Tips (Tender & Savory)

Beef tips are bite-sized pieces of beef, usually cooked in a rich gravy or sauce until tender. They’re perfect over rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles.


🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4)

For the beef:

  • 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or stew meat, cut into 1–2 inch cubes
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (for dredging)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil (vegetable or olive)

For the gravy:

  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon or yellow mustard (optional)
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

1️⃣ Brown the Beef

  1. Season beef cubes with salt and pepper.
  2. Toss in flour until lightly coated.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Brown beef on all sides (about 3–4 minutes per batch). Remove and set aside.

2️⃣ Make the Gravy

  1. In the same skillet, sauté onion until soft.
  2. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
  3. Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and paprika.
  4. Return beef to the skillet and bring to a simmer.

3️⃣ Simmer

  • Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 30–45 minutes until beef is tender.
  • Optional: Mix cornstarch with 1–2 tbsp water and stir into gravy to thicken.

4️⃣ Serve

  • Serve beef tips over rice, mashed potatoes, or buttered noodles.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
