🍯🐔 Honey Garlic Chicken

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (optional, for thicker sauce)
  • Optional garnish: sliced green onions, sesame seeds

Instructions

1️⃣ Prep the Chicken

  • Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.

2️⃣ Make Honey Garlic Sauce

  • In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add honey, soy sauce, and vinegar. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.

3️⃣ Combine & Simmer

  • Return chicken to the skillet.
  • Spoon sauce over the chicken.
  • Cover and simmer 5–10 minutes until chicken is cooked through (internal temp 165°F / 74°C).

4️⃣ Thicken the Sauce (Optional)

  • If you want a thicker glaze, stir in cornstarch-water mixture and simmer 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens.

5️⃣ Serve

  • Drizzle chicken with sauce.
  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Serve over steamed rice, noodles, or roasted vegetables.

💡 Tips

  • Use chicken thighs for juicier, more flavorful results.
  • Adjust honey or soy sauce for sweeter or saltier sauce.
  • For oven-baked version, bake chicken at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, then brush with sauce in the last 5–10 minutes.
  • Leftovers store well in the fridge for 2–3 days.
