Ground beef

Here’s a versatile Ground Beef Recipe—simple, flavorful, and a great base for many dishes:

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 for juicier flavor)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika or chili powder (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (if needed)
  • Optional: 1 cup diced tomatoes or tomato sauce for saucier dishes

Instructions

  1. Cook the Onion and Garlic:
    • Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add olive oil if using lean beef.
    • Sauté diced onion until translucent (3–4 minutes), then add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
  2. Cook the Ground Beef:
    • Add ground beef to the skillet.
    • Break it up with a spatula and cook until browned, about 6–8 minutes.
  3. Season:
    • Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and paprika or chili powder if desired.
    • Stir to combine.
  4. Optional Tomato Addition:
    • Add diced tomatoes or tomato sauce for a moist, saucy version.
    • Simmer 5–10 minutes to meld flavors.
  5. Serve:
    • Use as a filling for tacos, pasta, casseroles, sloppy joes, or serve over rice.

💡 Tips:

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce while browning.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if needed for even browning.
  • Drain excess fat if you want a leaner dish.
  • Freeze cooked ground beef in portions for quick future meals.

If you want, I can give you a party-style ground beef skillet recipe with vegetables, cheese, and a flavorful sauce that’s perfect for feeding 8–10 people.

Do you want that version?
