Oatmeal raisin cookie

Posted on January 20, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a classic, chewy oatmeal raisin cookie recipe 🍪—simple and reliable.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies (makes ~12–14 cookies)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (115 g) butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (95 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups (135 g) old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup (75 g) raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream butter and both sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Stir in oats and raisins.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Cool on baking sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Tips

  • For extra chewiness: substitute half of the butter with brown sugar only.
  • Optional add-ins: chopped walnuts, chocolate chips, or a pinch of nutmeg.
  • To make soft cookies, slightly underbake by 1 minute.

If you want, I can also give a 5-minute microwave oatmeal raisin cookie version for instant gratification. 🍪⚡

Do you want that super-fast version?
