Fried shrimp

Here’s a crispy, golden fried shrimp recipe — crunchy outside, juicy inside.


🍤 Crispy Fried Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined (tails optional)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon milk (optional)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or peanut)

Instructions

1️⃣ Prep Shrimp

Pat shrimp very dry with paper towels.


2️⃣ Set Up Breading Station

  • Bowl 1: Flour + half the salt/pepper
  • Bowl 2: Eggs (beaten with milk)
  • Bowl 3: Breadcrumbs + remaining seasoning

3️⃣ Bread

Dip shrimp in:

  1. Flour
  2. Egg
  3. Breadcrumbs (press lightly to coat)

Place on a plate while finishing the batch.


4️⃣ Fry

Heat 1–2 inches of oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry in small batches 2–3 minutes, until golden and cooked through.

Do not overcrowd.


5️⃣ Drain

Place on paper towels or a wire rack.
Sprinkle lightly with salt while hot.


Serve With

  • Cocktail sauce
  • Tartar sauce
  • Sweet chili sauce
  • Lemon wedges

🔥 Extra Crispy Tip

Use all panko OR mix half panko + half shredded coconut for coconut shrimp.
