Alright — spare ribs it is 😄
Here’s a fall-apart baked sweet & sour spare ribs recipe that’s easy and sticky in all the right ways.

🍖 Baked Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs

Ingredients

  • 3–4 lb pork spare ribs
  • Salt & pepper

Sweet & Sour Sauce

  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
  • 1 tsp ginger (optional but 🔥)

🔥 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Remove membrane from back of ribs (important for tenderness).
  3. Season ribs with salt & pepper.
  4. Wrap ribs tightly in foil and place on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake 2½–3 hours until ribs are tender.
  6. Mix all sauce ingredients.
  7. Unwrap ribs, brush generously with sauce.
  8. Increase oven to 400°F (205°C).
  9. Bake uncovered 20–30 minutes, flipping and brushing with more sauce until sticky and caramelized.

👌 Pro Tips

  • Want extra glaze? Broil 3–5 minutes at the end (watch closely).
  • Add pineapple juice (¼ cup) to the sauce for classic takeout vibes.
  • These pair perfectly with rice, slaw, or roasted veggies.

If you want BBQ-style, Asian-style, or slow cooker spare ribs, just say the word.
