Ahhh—Cuppa Cuppa Cake 😄
That old-school, measure-it-with-a-cup magic cake. No scales, no stress.
Classic Cuppa Cuppa Cake
Ratio:
👉 1 cup self-raising flour
👉 1 cup sugar
👉 1 cup milk
That’s it. That’s the spell. ✨
How to make it
- Mix flour + sugar in a bowl.
- Stir in milk until smooth.
- Pour into a greased baking dish.
- Bake at 350°F / 180°C for ~30–35 minutes
(top should be golden, middle soft).
Optional glow-ups (highly recommended)
- Add butter pieces on top before baking for richness
- Sprinkle nutmeg or cinnamon
- Pour over custard or evaporated milk after baking
- Serve warm with ice cream or cream
Variations
- Chocolate: replace ¼ cup flour with cocoa powder
- Spiced: add mixed spice + raisins
- Coconut: swap half the milk for coconut milk
It’s humble, cozy, and dangerously easy.
