Roasted Bacon

Yields: 4–6 servings (depending on thickness)
Time: 15–20 minutes

Ingredients

  • Bacon slices (regular or thick-cut)
  • Optional: black pepper, brown sugar, maple syrup, or chili flakes for flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Preheat to 200Β°C / 400Β°F.
  2. Prepare baking sheet
    Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Place a wire rack on top if you want the bacon extra crispy and fat-drained.
  3. Arrange bacon
    Lay bacon slices in a single layer, without overlapping.
  4. Add optional flavoring
    Sprinkle black pepper, brown sugar, or drizzle maple syrup if desired.
  5. Roast
    Bake 15–20 minutes, depending on thickness and desired crispiness. Check around 12–15 minutes for thin slices.
  6. Drain & serve
    Transfer cooked bacon to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess grease. Serve immediately.

Tips & Variations

  • Thick-cut bacon: May need 20–25 minutes.
  • Chewy bacon: Bake closer to 12–15 minutes.
  • Even cooking: Rotate the baking sheet halfway through baking.
  • Storage: Keep in the fridge for up to 5 days; reheat in the oven for 5–7 minutes for crispiness.
