Here’s a simple, classic baked potato you can make anytime 🥔

Basic Baked Potato (Oven)

Ingredients

  • 1 large russet potato
  • Olive oil (optional)
  • Salt

Steps

  1. Heat oven to 425°F / 220°C.
  2. Scrub the potato clean and dry it well.
  3. Pierce it 4–6 times with a fork.
  4. Rub lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt (optional but tasty).
  5. Place directly on the oven rack or on a baking tray.
  6. Bake 45–60 minutes, until the skin is crisp and a knife slides in easily.
  7. Slice open, fluff with a fork, add toppings.

Quick Microwave Method

  1. Wash and pierce the potato.
  2. Microwave on high 5 minutes, flip, then 3–5 more minutes until soft.
  3. For crisp skin, finish in a hot oven or air fryer for 5–10 minutes.
