Oh yes 😎 Let’s make Honey Butter Crispy Chicken—crispy, golden, and sweet-savory perfection!
Honey Butter Crispy Chicken
Ingredients (4 servings)
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (or drumsticks)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for a little kick)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp milk
- 3–4 tbsp butter
- 3–4 tbsp honey
- Oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or peanut)
Instructions
1. Prep the chicken
- Pat chicken dry with paper towels.
- In a shallow bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk.
2. Bread the chicken
- Dip chicken in egg mixture, then dredge in the seasoned flour.
- Press flour gently to adhere. Set aside.
3. Fry the chicken
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or Dutch oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken 8–12 minutes per side, depending on size, until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Transfer to a wire rack or paper towels to drain.
4. Make honey butter
- In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
- Stir in honey until combined.
5. Glaze the chicken
- Brush or drizzle the warm honey butter over the crispy chicken just before serving.
Tips
- Extra crispy: Double-dip the chicken in egg and flour for a thicker crust.
- Sweet & spicy: Add a pinch of chili powder to the honey butter.
- Oven option: Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 35–40 minutes (brush with honey butter in the last 5–10 minutes).
I can also give a one-pan baked version that’s fully crispy without frying—super easy cleanup and still golden with honey butter.
