Million Dollar Chicken Casserole

Posted on January 27, 2026 by Admin

Ah yes 🍗💰 — Million Dollar Chicken Casserole is rich, creamy, cheesy, and indulgent — the kind of comfort food that lives up to its name. Here’s a classic recipe:

Million Dollar Chicken Casserole

Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

Chicken & Base

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced (rotisserie works great)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or use all chicken soup for simpler flavor)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (reserve ¼ cup for topping)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Topping

  • 1 cup crushed buttery crackers (Ritz or similar)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

1. Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×13 baking dish.

2. Mix Casserole

  • In a large bowl, combine chicken, cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, mayonnaise, shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

3. Assemble

  • Spread mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.

4. Prepare Topping

  • Mix crushed crackers with melted butter. Sprinkle over casserole.
  • Sprinkle reserved cheddar cheese on top.

5. Bake

  • Bake 25–30 min until bubbly and golden on top.

6. Serve

  • Let cool 5 min before serving. Perfect with a simple side salad or steamed veggies.

Pro Tips

  • Make ahead: Assemble the night before, cover, and refrigerate; bake the next day.
  • Cheese twist: Mix in pepper jack or mozzarella for extra flavor.
  • Crispier topping: Broil 2–3 min at the end for golden crunch.
  • Add veggies: Frozen peas, corn, or broccoli can be stirred into the casserole for extra nutrition.

I can also give a slow-cooker Million Dollar Chicken Casserole or a spicy version with cream cheese and jalapeños if you want a fun twist.

Do you want me to do that?
