maple glaze cookies

Posted on January 26, 2026 by Admin

Ah yes—Maple Glazed Cookies 🍁—soft, sweet, with that warm, cozy maple flavor. Here’s a complete, classic recipe:

Maple Glazed Cookies

Ingredients (makes ~24 cookies)

For the Cookies

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Maple Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1–2 tsp milk (to thin if needed)

Instructions

1. Make the cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls onto prepared baking sheets.
  7. Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely.

2. Make the glaze

  • Whisk powdered sugar with maple syrup. Add milk 1 tsp at a time until smooth and pourable.

3. Glaze the cookies

  • Drizzle or spread glaze over cooled cookies.
  • Let glaze set 30–60 minutes before serving.

Tips

  • Use pure maple syrup for best flavor; imitation syrup tastes flat.
  • Soft vs. crisp: Bake slightly less for soft cookies, slightly more for crisp edges.
  • Optional upgrade: Sprinkle chopped pecans on top of glaze before it sets.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature 3–4 days, or freeze for longer.

I can also give a sweet-savory maple bacon version that’s extra indulgent and Southern-style if you want.

Do you want me to do that?
