Here’s an easy, no-fuss Crockpot BBQ Chicken that comes out tender, juicy, and packed with smoky-sweet flavor.


🍗🔥 Crockpot BBQ Chicken

Ingredients (serves 4–6)

  • 1–1.5 kg chicken (breasts or thighs, boneless or bone-in)
  • 1 ½ cups BBQ sauce (your favorite)
  • ¼ cup ketchup (optional, for extra depth)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp chili powder or paprika (optional)
  • Salt to taste

🔥 Instructions

1. Add everything to crockpot

Place chicken in the slow cooker.
Pour BBQ sauce, ketchup, spices, and sweetener over it.
Stir gently to coat.


2. Slow cook

  • Low: 6–7 hours
  • High: 3–4 hours

Chicken is done when it shreds easily with a fork.


3. Shred (optional but recommended)

Remove chicken and shred it using two forks.
Return it to the sauce and mix well.


4. Thicken (optional upgrade)

If sauce is too thin:

  • Cook uncovered for 20–30 minutes on HIGH
    OR
  • Stir in 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

🍽️ How to serve it

  • On burger buns (BBQ chicken sandwiches 🍔)
  • With rice or mashed potatoes
  • In wraps or tacos
  • Over baked fries or loaded nachos

  • Thighs = juicier than breasts in slow cooking
  • Don’t add too much liquid—the chicken releases its own juices

  • Toast buns for better texture if making sandwiches
