Chicken and noodles

Here’s a comforting, simple chicken and noodles recipe you can make any day—rich, cozy, and very satisfying.


🍜 Chicken and Noodles (Homestyle)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded or cubed)
  • 200–250 g egg noodles
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk or cream
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp dried thyme or oregano (optional)
  • 1 tbsp flour (for slight thickness, optional)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Sauté base
    Heat butter/oil in a pan. Cook onion until soft, then add garlic.
  2. Make the sauce
    Add flour (if using) and cook for 1 minute.
    Slowly pour in chicken broth while stirring.
  3. Add noodles
    Add egg noodles and cook until tender (about 8–10 minutes).
  4. Add chicken & cream
    Stir in cooked chicken and milk/cream.
    Simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thick and creamy.
  5. Season & serve
    Add salt, pepper, and herbs. Serve hot.

  • Use leftover roast chicken or rotisserie for extra flavor.
  • Add veggies like carrots, peas, or mushrooms.
  • For a soupier version, add more broth.
  • For a richer dish, use cream instead of milk.

  • Add a pinch of turmeric and garam masala.
  • Toss in green chilies for a little heat.
