Meatloaf

Back to the classics—meatloaf done right. 🍖 This one is juicy, flavorful, and never dry.

Classic Homestyle Meatloaf

Ingredients (serves 4–6):

  • 1½ lb ground beef (80/20 works best)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Glaze:

  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp mustard

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: 350°F (175°C).
  2. Make the meat mixture:
    • In a large bowl, mix breadcrumbs and milk. Let soak 1 minute.
    • Add egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper.
    • Gently mix in ground beef until just combined (don’t overmix).
  3. Shape:
    • Form into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan or on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Glaze it:
    • Mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread over the top.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake 55–65 minutes, until internal temp hits 160°F (71°C).
  6. Rest:
    • Let rest 5–10 minutes before slicing to keep it juicy.

💡 Make it next-level:

  • Swap half the beef for ground pork → extra juicy.
  • Add shredded cheese inside for a cheesy meatloaf surprise.
  • Sauté the onions first for sweeter, deeper flavor.

If you want, I can do a cheese-stuffed meatloaf, BBQ-glazed meatloaf, or even a slow-cooker meatloaf version. Just say the word 😄
