Banana bread

🍌 Banana Bread

Banana bread is a soft, moist, cake-like loaf made with ripe bananas. It’s perfect for breakfast, tea time, or a sweet snack.


🧾 Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas (very soft, mashed)
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup sugar (brown sugar works best)
  • ½ cup butter (melted) or ½ cup oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Optional: ½ cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Prep

  • Preheat oven to 175°C
  • Grease or line a loaf pan

2. Mash bananas

  • Mash bananas in a bowl until smooth with small chunks

3. Mix wet ingredients

  • Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla
  • Mix well

4. Add dry ingredients

  • Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt
  • Mix gently (don’t overmix)

5. Add extras

  • Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using

6. Bake

  • Pour into loaf pan
  • Bake for 50–60 minutes
  • Check with a toothpick—it should come out clean

7. Cool

  • Let it cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing

🍽️ Serving Ideas:

  • Toast with butter 🧈
  • With tea or coffee ☕
  • Spread peanut butter or Nutella
  • Serve warm with ice cream 🍦

🔥 Tips:

  • Use overripe bananas (brown spots = more flavor)
  • Don’t overmix or it becomes dense
  • Add cinnamon for extra warmth
  • Store wrapped to keep it moist
