Pakora

Pakora (also called fritters) is a crispy, deep-fried snack made with gram flourβ€”perfect for rainy days or tea time πŸ˜‹


πŸ§… Ingredients

  • 1 cup besan (gram flour)
  • 1–2 potatoes (thinly sliced) OR onions (sliced) OR spinach leaves
  • 1–2 green chilies (chopped)
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • Β½ tsp turmeric (haldi)
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds (zeera)
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds (crushed)
  • Salt to taste
  • Water (to make batter)
  • Oil (for frying)

🍳 Method

  1. In a bowl, mix besan, salt, red chili, turmeric, cumin, and coriander seeds.
  2. Add water slowly to make a thick batter (not too runny).
  3. Add sliced vegetables and mix well to coat them.
  4. Heat oil in a pan on medium heat.
  5. Drop small portions of batter into hot oil.
  6. Fry until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  • Serve hot with green chutney or tamarind chutney
