Here’s a juicy, skillet-style Lemon Garlic Butter Chicken—bright, buttery, and weeknight-easy.


🍋🧄 Lemon Garlic Butter Chicken

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts or thighs (boneless or bone-in)
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter, divided
  • 4–5 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • Juice of 1 large lemon
  • Zest of 1 lemon (optional but amazing)
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • Optional: fresh parsley, red pepper flakes

Instructions

1️⃣ Season the chicken

  • Pat chicken dry.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.

2️⃣ Sear

  • Heat olive oil + 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Sear chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.

3️⃣ Make the sauce

  • In the same skillet, lower heat to medium.
  • Add remaining butter and garlic; cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in chicken broth, lemon juice, zest, and herbs.
  • Scrape up browned bits and simmer 2–3 minutes.

4️⃣ Finish cooking

  • Return chicken to skillet.
  • Spoon sauce over chicken.
  • Simmer 5–8 minutes (until chicken reaches 165°F / 74°C).

5️⃣ Serve

  • Garnish with parsley or chili flakes.
  • Spoon extra sauce on top—don’t skip this part 😏

🔥 Tips & Variations

  • Creamy version: add ¼–½ cup heavy cream
  • Extra lemony: add lemon slices while simmering
  • Oven finish: transfer skillet to 375°F (190°C) oven for 10 minutes
  • Serve with: rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, or roasted veggies
