🍫 Ultimate Chocolate Cake

🧾 Ingredients (serves 8–10)

Cake:

  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee (or hot water)

Chocolate Ganache (optional but amazing):

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Preheat oven

  • 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and line a cake pan (9×13 or two 9-inch rounds).

2. Make the batter (one bowl!)

  • Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla → mix until smooth.
  • Stir in hot coffee (this makes it extra moist).

3. Bake

  • Pour into pan.
  • Bake 30–35 minutes (until toothpick comes out clean).
  • Let cool completely.

4. Make ganache (optional)

  • Heat cream until hot (not boiling).
  • Pour over chocolate chips, let sit 2 minutes, then stir smooth.

5. Finish

  • Pour ganache over cooled cake or frost as desired.

💡 Tips for PERFECT cake

  • Hot coffee = deeper chocolate flavor (no coffee taste!)
  • Don’t overbake → keeps it soft and moist
  • Let it cool fully before adding topping

🍽️ Easy Variations

  • Fudgy version: Add ½ cup melted chocolate
  • Milk chocolate style: Reduce cocoa slightly + add more sugar
  • Cupcakes: Bake 18–20 minutes
