Baked Ham

Posted on March 24, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a classic Baked Ham recipe—sweet, savory, and perfectly glazed for any holiday or family dinner.

Baked Ham

Ingredients (6–8 servings)

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (5–7 lbs / 2.3–3.2 kg)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp ground cloves (optional)
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
  • ½ cup water or apple juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Preheat to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare the ham
    • Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern (about ½-inch deep).
    • Place the ham in a roasting pan, flat-side down.
  3. Make the glaze
    • In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, cloves, and cinnamon.
    • Brush half the glaze over the ham.
  4. Bake the ham
    • Pour water or apple juice into the bottom of the roasting pan to keep the ham moist.
    • Cover loosely with foil and bake for about 15–18 minutes per pound.
  5. Glaze and finish
    • Every 20–30 minutes, brush the ham with the remaining glaze.
    • During the last 20 minutes, remove foil and let the glaze caramelize for a nice golden finish.
  6. Rest and serve
    • Remove ham from oven and let it rest 10–15 minutes before slicing.

💡 Tips:

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C) for fully cooked ham.
  • Leftover ham is great in sandwiches, soups, or casseroles.
  • For extra flavor, add pineapple slices or whole cloves to stud the ham before baking.

If you want, I can also give a slow cooker ham version that stays extra juicy and infused with a sweet glaze.

Do you want me to give that slow cooker version?
