Meatloaf

Here’s a classic Meatloaf recipe—moist, flavorful, and topped with a savory glaze. Perfect for a comforting dinner.

Classic Meatloaf

Ingredients (6 servings)

  • 2 lbs (900 g) ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • ½ cup ketchup (plus extra for topping)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Preheat to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix ingredients
    • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Shape the meatloaf
    • Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan (or on a lined baking sheet).
  4. Add topping
    • Spread a thin layer of ketchup over the top of the meatloaf for a classic glaze.
  5. Bake
    • Bake for 60–70 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  6. Rest and serve
    • Let meatloaf rest 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with mashed potatoes, vegetables, or a side salad.

💡 Tips:

  • For extra moisture, add grated carrots or zucchini to the meat mixture.
  • Leftovers are great in sandwiches.
  • You can also make mini meatloaves in a muffin tin for individual servings.

If you want, I can give a slow cooker meatloaf version that stays extra moist and is nearly foolproof.

Do you want me to give that slow cooker version?
