Baked potato

Posted on March 23, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple guide to make a perfect baked potato—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside.

Ingredients (Serves 2–4)

  • 2–4 large russet potatoes
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, bacon bits, chives, butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
    Preheat to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prep the Potatoes:
    • Scrub potatoes clean under running water and pat dry.
    • Prick each potato several times with a fork.
    • Rub with olive oil or butter and sprinkle generously with salt.
  3. Bake:
    • Place potatoes directly on the oven rack (or on a baking sheet).
    • Bake for 45–60 minutes, depending on size, until the skin is crispy and a fork or skewer slides easily into the center.
  4. Serve:
    • Slice open and fluff the inside with a fork.
    • Add your favorite toppings like butter, sour cream, shredded cheese, bacon bits, or chives.

💡 Tips:

  • For extra-crispy skin, bake uncovered and rub with a little extra oil.
  • Microwave shortcut: Cook on high for 5–8 minutes per potato, then finish in the oven for 10–15 minutes for crispy skin.
  • Russet potatoes work best—they have fluffy interiors and sturdy skins.

If you want, I can also give stuffed baked potato ideas that turn it into a full meal—like broccoli-cheddar, taco, or chicken bacon ranch versions. Do you want those?
